4 Key Steps to Online Business Success

Posted by

Most people, at one time or another, seriously think of starting their own business. They are lured by the promise of unbridled creativity, freedom from restrictions and the chance to make a lot of money. The reason most people don’t follow through with their dreams is primarily because they really have no idea of how or where to start.

One sure fire way to achieve success in any endeavor is to market something you absolutely love. When you are passionate about your business, your enthusiasm can be infectious. Unfortunately, all the passion in the world will not lead to success unless it is tempered with knowledge.

There are some benchmark conditions that must be met in order to garner sure-fire success in an online marketing business. Some of the modules that should be investigated when you are considering starting your own online marketing business are:

1) Market Research:

It is essential that you determine the marketability of your product/service prior to launching an online business. You must ensure that your product/service is one that others need or want. Salability must also be factored in to the equation: Is the market open enough to sustain your produce/service? Are there a lot of people who will be willing to spend money to get what you offer? How will you market and deliver your product/service? How much competition will you have? How do you determine your price?

2) Developing a Business Plan:

Every successful business owner knows that having a comprehensive, written business plan provides a well defined road map for success. Without knowing where you are going and how you plan to get there the chances of your business realizing a profit are fairly slim. Determining the cost of doing business and how you will obtain the funds to become operational can be attained by developing a financial forecast. Preparing a financial workbook will outline how long it will take to develop your business and define exactly how much income you can expect to make in a pre-determined time frame.

3) Increasing your knowledge Base:

Running a flourishing on line business takes a lot of work and dedication, but most importantly, the success of your online venture absolutely hinges on knowledge. As the owner of the Company you must have a working knowledge of many different facets of business operation. Be prepared to acquaint yourself with all the nuances of online marketing – from where and how to advertise, how to market and deliver your product and how to recognize and take advantage of other opportunities that will increase your profit base.

4) Developing the Proper Mindset:

Operating any business (either online or off) requires a great deal of dedication. As the owner you will ultimately be responsible for the success or failure of your venture. You must be willing to devote a lot of time and effort to establishing and maintaining your operations. In addition, once you have reached a certain level of success it may become necessary for you to hire others to assist you. Are you willing to learn the skills necessary for effective management and administration including where to get the required information and how to apply it to your particular business?

As you can see from the above, starting an online business is not as simple as developing a web page and waiting for the orders to roll in. In order become solidly established in your online business, it is essential that you obtain good, solid information – preferably from other successful marketers. The 10 Steps to Building a Successful ecommerce Website

Posted by

10 tiny steps to building a successful e-commerce website – A true “dummy’s guide” that guarantees online success.

Shannon runs a successful pizza joint on Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn. He specializes in exotic varieties of Kosher Pizza and after repeated requests from office goers for a website through which they could place orders, Shannon finally relented and got a beautiful ecommerce website. He also installed a computer at the cash counter. Each morning, Shannon would just login at the site and keep the admin page open. The moment a pizza order was placed, the details of the order and address would be flashed on the screen. Shannon would hit the print button, prepare the pizza and stick the printed order on top of the pizza box. Today, Shannon also owns the adjoining shop, has installed more pizza baking units there, and has eight delivery boys working for him.

So how did he do it? I love the Pizza but have no idea how he makes them. But, as his friend who helped him build the website and online business marketing plan, I can tell you about the ten steps he took to build a successful ecommerce web site solutions. I’ll leave out the name of the pizza joint lest you think I’m advertising for Shannon.

1. Know thy name

Shannon paid .99 and booked a domain name selecting the same name as the existing pizza joint. This makes name recollection really easy and is one of the important steps in building an online store or online presence.

2. Know what you want

He visited a few existing ecommerce store management websites that take orders for pizza. This gave him a good idea of what was possible. It also gave him some ideas on how he wanted his website to look like.

3. Take the right foot forward and be careful where you place it

After seeing a few advertisements that promised instant online nirvana, Shannon paid and opted for one that promised to “instantly build ecommerce site by reputed web development Richmond Company at the click of a button”. In Shannon’s own words, “the result was identical to my first attempt at making pizza when I was 6 years old – a total disaster”.

After much thinking and reading various white papers on how to build an ecommerce web site, Shannon visited a few websites which provides ecommerce web development services and freelancing web experts. He finally decided to work with elance.com because of the sheer professionalism displayed there. He posted his request for a website mentioning his requirements and invited freelancing web designers and web masters to bid on building an ecommerce site.

4. Select your ecommerce consulting services partner with care

After carefully scrutinizing the various bids he received, he opted for one bidder who had several years of experience in building ecommerce websites as well as a good feedback from previous customers.

5. Heed sound, professional advice

Shannon heeded the advice of the freelancer, and purchased hosting space from the recommended web hosting provider. It cost him /year. It had loads of space, guaranteed 99.99% uptime, high speed connection to the internet and every resource (such as database support and other things) that the webmaster required.

6. Attention to detail

As the website was being developed, Shannon would visit his website and observe the development as it happened. He could do so because the webmaster would upload the completed sections each evening. If Shannon thought some part of his website or webpage did not look right, he would inform the webmaster who would quickly carry out the changes. Shannon supplied the webmaster with all the content that was required. Which basically meant a list of kosher pizzas, toppings, photographs, prices, seasonal offers, other discounts, time required for delivery, delivery area and so on.

7. Take it for a spin

Once the site was ready, Shannon, I and two other friends tested the website. We would select a pizza, toppings etc. and once in the shopping cart, make changes to the order, remove it altogether, add another selection and so on. You could say we “stress tested” the website. On the third and final day of testing, we went the whole nine yards and paid for the pizzas that we had ordered. This way we also ensured the payment procedure worked smoothly. Shannon, would login at the admin panel of his website and check to make sure the order details were correctly displayed. Shannon’s ecommerce website was now ready.

8. Let the people know

On inaugural day, Shannon displayed a few large posters on the sidewalk as well as in the pizza joint. He also inserted a few ads in the local editions of various newspapers, magazines and made dozens of calls to clients who he knew would be interested. The first day he received a grand total of 5 orders from his website. Even that delighted him no end. He was as happy as a little child with a candy bar.

9. Let the World know

The next day Shannon remembered the Google Adwords gift voucher he saw in his web hosting account. Not knowing how to use it, “googled” for details, got the gist of what was involved and once again visited elance.com. This time he put up a project for ecommerce internet marketing his ecommerce website on google.com using Google Adwords. This was February 2009. Between then and today, Shannon says he spent about ,500 or so on Google Ads. Today he receives in excess of 300 orders per day from the website alone.

10. Keep it ticking

Shannon has hired the webmasters that initially designed and developed his site to also maintain his site. Maintenance usually meant changing various offers and schemes or adding new varieties of Pizza and toppings.

Whether it’s Pizza, cabbages, EPABX, auto accessories or online consulting, it makes no difference to the procedure. Shannon’s success is proof that the 10 steps he followed were the correct ones. The path has been revealed. Whether you choose to follow the successful one or not is up to you. Use it to your advantage when you build your ecommerce store solution or online office. Shannon and I would be delighted with your success.

Successful Internet Marketing ?5 Easy Steps to Help You Choose the Best Niche For Your Website

Posted by

Picking a profitable niche is crucial in driving traffic to your website. Although there are no guaranteed techniques to select a lucrative niche, I will show in this article 8 simple steps which will help you to choose the best niche for your website.

1. Create a list of your interest and hobbies

Make a note of everything you are enthusiastic and interested about. This is extremely important as writing about a subject that you like will help to keep you motivated about your website. This could really be about anything, sports, vintage cars, upholstery, etc.

2. Create another list that concentrates on the things you excel at

Learn from your friends and family what they believe you are great at! Some people may bring up subjects you would never have considered! In my particular case, the fact that I was good at drawing was a recurring theme amongst my friends and family! However, it could be that you are good with children or the elderly, or excel at baking!

3. Combine the 2 Lists

If you can find any similarities between the 2 lists this will give you a good head start on the subject you can write about on your website. Having said that, you don’t need to be an expert to write about a specific subject. You can still select a topic as long as you are passionate about and willing to learn about it.

4. Select your preferred top 3 niches

From the combined list you put together in step 3, extract the top 3 subjects you are most passionate about. Next, use Google keyword tool to find out the numbers of monthly visitors to your potential niche. Ideally you should be aiming for a niche showing a figure in excess of 20,000 searches per month.

5. Find out the profitability of your niche

The easiest way to establish whether your niche is profitable or not is by typing your subject keywords in Google and looking at the number of sponsored ads listed on the top and right handset of the results pages. If people are prepared to pay for these keywords, this confirms that they are indeed profitable!

On the other hand if when typed into Google your keyword brings no sponsored ads, this is an obvious sign that there is very little or no money to be made in that particular niche.

Procedure For Proper Article Submission in 5 easy steps – Internet Marketing tutorial

Posted by

Successful article submission

Creating and publishing articles to directories as a way to promote products or services is a “shrewd move” for any aspiring internet marketer.

However, numerous people are at a complete loss when it comes to submitting their articles and do not know how and where to start. In this article, I will outline the entire process in 5 easy steps.

The difficulties encountered when submitting articles to various directories can easily be easily avoided with some simple organization ideas:

Step 1: This goes without saying, but you should always proofread your article and read it a few times to make sure that there are no inconsistencies. Also pay attention to the title. It should not only be appealing to readers, but also be a brief summary of your article.

Step 2: Initially, open an account with the top 10 article directories – (as your website grows, you will add more directories to your list)

EzineArticles.com
ArticlesBase.com
Buzzle.com
SearchWarp.com
ArticleAlley.com
GoArticles.com
Web-Source.net
ArticleSet.com
WebProNews.com
Amazines.com

Some directories like Ezine articles and Buzzle.com will only accept unique material, so you will need to re-write the articles before posting them to these directories.

Step 3: Write the author bio and the resource box for each directory. Getting the resource box right is crucial in generating traffic to your site. This is the only place where you are allowed to promote your products and services. Make sure you place the relevant hyperlinks strategically within the resource box.

Step 4: Make a list of the information needed to log into each single directory. In most cases, this will be the e-mail, username and password. For example: Ezine – myemail – myusername – mypassword. From one directory to another the categories’ name will vary, so also make a note of the applicable category title for each directory.

Step 5: Why you should submit manually?

Although I am sure that you are aware of the numerous “mass article submission software” available, if you submit your articles to less than 20 directories, I STRONGLY advise you do it manually, one at a time.

The reason for this is that you must ensure that the hyperlinks stay intact. Yes, this method will take more time, but there is also a lot less chance of a mistake being made such as violating a directory’s terms of service and subsequently having your account canceled.

By doing manual submissions, your articles will be placed under the right category, comply with the correct directory’s format, and not end up being rejected because of a captcha image infraction; which is very hard to bypass with an automated article submission.

As a whole, you will get much better results with respect to acceptance of your articles and also with regard to link building

Successful Article Marketing in 5 Easy Steps – Internet Marketing guide

Understanding article marketing

If you are not having success with article marketing, or if you are contemplating starting out, below are some guidelines which will help to save you a lot of wasted effort in the future.

No 1: Respect the article directory’s rules and regulations

Although reading each directory’s specific rules might look like a mundane, mind-numbing exercise, if you don’t adhere to them, you may well find that your article marketing career comes to an abrupt end.

No 2: Make sure your writing is up to scratch

If you wish to write, publish and furthermore get your articles noticed and be taken seriously by other internet marketers and bloggers you must at least exhibit basic literacy skills.

Nothing screams “inexperienced newbie louder than a poorly written article. You should re-read your articles a few times to make sure the content actually makes sense.

No 3: Proof read your articles.

All wordprocessing software include a spellchecker. Make ample use of it!

If your article is littered with spelling mistakes, terrible grammar and has little or no punctuation, visitors will not bother reading it in its entirety and instead will quickly “click away” from it.

As previously mentioned, make sure you read your article at least a few times before submitting it. Often when you read it a second time, your eyes will pick up mistakes that you did not see first time around.

No 4: Mass submission is disliked by article directories!

They usually see it as “spamming” the directory.

Truth be told, who is capable of “churning out” 100 articles in a day? Personally, I think that even writing 10 a day is quite a remarkable achievement for the average writer.

So if you are thinking of submitting large numbers of articles, and don’t want to see them being deleted, use your common sense, don’t “force feed” them to the article directory in one go, but instead spread out the submissions across many days or even weeks.

5. Create an effective resource box

Essentially this is the only space in the article where you are allowed to promote your products or services. Use up your hyperlinks allowance efficiently. Make sure that you insert your selected keywords as anchor text.

In order to lure readers back to your site, you should give them a good reason to click on your hyperlink by writing a strong “call to action”. For example: “Healthy Eating Centre will help you to shed those unwanted pounds”.
