Why People Fail in Online Business

Posted by

It’s no secret that 44% of new businesses in the real world close their doors within the first two years of opening them. In the first four years, 66% of small businesses fail. In the online world, the numbers are worse. Everything is faster on the internet and that includes the deterioration of new businesses. 95% of online businesses fail and they fail in a matter of months.

Disheartening? It doesn’t have to be. You can learn from other people’s mistakes. Other people’s successes in the online world drove you to want to start your online business. Their failures can help you.

Who wouldn’t prefer to avoid rush hour traffic in the morning on the way to the office and in the evening on the way home from the office? And everybody hates their boss. Even if you like your boss, you prefer not to have a boss at all. That’s the allure of the internet. Making money in your pajamas and answering to yourself.

It’s also one of the biggest reasons people fail in online business. They have to answer to themselves. When you first venture into being your own boss, it’s extremely tempting to slack off on your work hours. It’s even more tempting if you work from home. You have the television, video games, the refrigerator, the children and the spouse all to distract you. Being your own boss takes more discipline than having a job where you take orders from someone else. The lack of discipline in most online business owners causes them to relax their efforts ten times more than they would if they had a boss to answer to. The reality is that in some aspects, being your own boss can be more demanding than a job. Your businesses success and failure hinges on how much work you put into it.

Many online businesses fail because the owners dive into the venture with the wrong mindset. They try to take brick-and-mortar concepts and apply them to the internet. The internet is a different monster than a brick-and-mortar retail shop. With a brick-and-mortar retail shop, you start with a great location and you build a beautiful store, a little advertising and the customers come. Online business owners put all kinds of money into building beautiful websites and then sit back and wait for the business to come to them.

It doesn’t work like the late night infomercials tell you that it does. That brick-and-mortar retail store competes with only the other four or five retail stores in that plaza. You build your beautiful site and it competes with millions of other websites. Now, how are people supposed to find your needle in that haystack? Search engine optimization would be a good start. Create a site that the search engines love. Hopefully, your site shows up at the top of the search engine results (this is prime real estate on the internet). But in order to do that, you have to plan accordingly.

Lack of planning kills any business. It’s extremely detrimental to internet businesses. For an internet business to succeed, there has to a comprehensive plan that includes website design, the focus of your business, marketing strategies, fulfillment strategies, and strategies to handle customer complaints. Most new internet businesses have no focus. The owner just knows that he wants to start a business online. He has some idea in his head that he wants to sell video games, for example. Unfortunately, he has not created a plan to differentiate himself from the other million and one websites that sell video games. He becomes a speck in the dust.

In order to properly plan, the online business owner has to have knowledge of every aspect of his business, marketing strategies others in the field are employing with success, and the knowledge of internet marketing. Most online businesses fail because the owner jumps into the business powered by his dreams of financial success or freedom from a traditional job. They fail to take the time to learn the intricacies and strategies of internet marketing and what it takes to succeed in an online business.

An online business needs three factors in order to achieve success. The business has to generate traffic, keep constant contact with customer and close the sale. Even brick-and-mortar businesses can’t survive if they have no customers. Online businesses are the same way. If no one visits your website, then you can’t make any money. Many new online business owners, their first time starting a business online, expect that simply having their website online will generate business. It doesn’t. They’ve gone several months before realizing that they have to generate traffic on their own. By then, it’s too late for them to learn how to use internet marketing to their advantage. They’ve already spent tons of money launching the business, warehousing products, and shelling out for expenses.

Some people have the luck of hiring a website design firm who has explained to their customer that they will need site optimization, and probably offered traffic generation services. It’s great to get traffic. But you’re going to be throwing your hands up in the air in surrender when you have a thousand customers a day to your site and still aren’t making any money. That’s because you’ve failed to grab hold of this prospect and not let him walk out of the door. Online businesses have an advantage over brick-and-mortar businesses. It’s easier for an online business to capture email addresses and information about customers than it is for brick-and-mortar business. Unfortunately, some online business owners actually fail to do this. Simply capturing email addresses gives you the opportunity to invite this prospect back to your site. The job that people say they despise the most is sales jobs. Even though we are constantly selling ourselves, people are so fearful of sales. Too many business owners take this same mentality into their online business. You can’t be afraid to ask for the sale. If you never ask for the sale, how do you know if you will every get it or not?

Finally, the greatest tragedy of all online business failures is neglecting the use of the tracking capabilities of the internet. The internet is such an amazing tool for tracking and measuring statistics. It’s unbelievable how many online business owners fail to track and measure their efforts. This probably is a byproduct of improper planning. But even planning without tracking and measuring results is pointless. Because of the lack of tracking, you could end up spending more money into advertising efforts that aren’t working and less time and money on efforts that do work.

Your online business doesn’t have to fail. Educating yourself on internet marketing and operating and online business will build your self-assurance. Constructing a plan for your business will help you develop the discipline you need to keep your business moving in the right direction. Don’t allow your online business to fail when it’s so easy to get the tools to succeed.

Learn Internet marketing ? Get Top Advice From Top People

Learn from the pros

Considering the rapid rise in popularity of the internet, a growing number of people are seeking to create their own website. Unfortunately more than 90% will give up within the first few months due to their lack of knowledge.

You don’t have to be am Internet Genius to succeed at internet marketing. Under proper guidance it can easily be done. A great way to stand out from the crowd is to have a good strategy from the outset.

One of the easiest ways to learn internet marketing is by regularly attending seminars.

After attending numerous intensive seminars, I usually end up with a bundle of written notes containing pertinent information, most of it being substantial and doable ideas that I subsequently cannot wait to put into practice!

Nothing compares to listening to a successful internet marketer telling you all about his thriving websites and revealing the techniques that he has used.

Often these seminars have a panel of many different speakers, who have totally different backgrounds, techniques and a different perspective on internet marketing, making it a unique learning experience. Where else would you be able to get such valuable and diverse information in one place?

Also, the fact that you will be able to interact and exchange ideas with other delegates acts as a great moral booster. Seminars are fantastic place to discuss anything from Squeeze pages to SEO with like minded people.

How do they work?

You will usually find two different types:

Strategy specific seminars

They work a bit like personal coaching.

To attend those you will have to pay a substantial fee. The number of delegates is usually only between 30-50, the speakers 2-3, and it is more work-shop based. You will receive personal step by step guidance on specific strategies. There is a lot of interaction (as the group is quite small) and practical tasks to achieve.

General seminars

This type is a lot cheaper and in many cases free. There are a large number of delegates anything from hundreds to sometimes thousands and 10 to 20 speakers.

The information and recommendations given will be general rather than “project focused”. Due to the large number of delegates, there won’t be any specific guidance on the various subjects.

Both specific and general seminars are enormously invaluable and although there are sales pitches in both, I would strongly advise a beginner to start with a free seminar and once more confident and knowledgeable to opt for a more specific one.

Why so Many People Fail in Online Business

Posted by

Why so many people fail in online business is a most frequent discussion online these days. The fact is that of all newbies online actually 1-5% manage to make some money and run successfull business online later on. We have to look for answers to this ”fenomen” in many ways. But  first you have to accept the fact that online business is the same as any other offline form of selling and marketing. You have to work hard and learn a lot (from others) but most important is, that you actually understand how the system works.

You can spend a lot of your time and money on searching for that magic formula to make you rich over night but gues what. There are many ebooks and scripts that promise you success overnight or something like automatic cash system and etc… But the only automatic part of entire online business is based on autoresponder service (if you use one). And that is a payable option. All the rest (marketing and promotion) depends on you and nobody else. So here are the main reasons why people fail in online business:

It’s hard to describe all reasons why people fail in online business with one article. Just remember that only commitment, ability to learn and stay focused and a bit of investment will make your online business successfull and nothing else.

Why Many People Fail to Make Money From Internet Marketing

Posted by

Why Many People Fail to Make Money from Internet MarketingCopyright © Captain Adiari, M.D.http://www.OnlineGain.netInternet is a huge market. If you search the internet, there are literally myriad programs with multitudes of software being chunked out frequently, each trying to convince you of its superiority over the others. This is where the internet neophytes, the newbies, get confused and usually become overwhelmed. If you are a newbie and feels confused and even overwhelmed, don’t be disheartened. Do not give up like so many do. Statistics have shown that 95 percent of people, who hear of the big internet market with its numerous opportunities of financial gains and attempt to do business through it, actually get frustrated and give up. Such people are the ones that generally conclude that all forms of internet business are nothing but gimmicks and scams. But that is not true. You can make a decent living from internet marketing as being attested to by so many people in our program. You don’t need to belong to the 95 percent failure class. But why this high casualty rate? Why so much failure?A number of reasons explain this:1). Lack of knowledge of internet marketing. Many people think that to make money online, they will just set up a website, host it on an engine, submit it to search engines, then sit down and fold their hands waiting for the dollars to start pouring in.2). Not updating your knowledgeSome people don’t take advantage of the newer internet marketing techniques. For instance, some don’t have knowledge of automation. They are still struggling with the manual system to build their subscribers’ list. How can they catch up with some other person who uses auto-submission to reach a wider subscription coverage? 3). Non-specialisationThere are various aspects of internet marketing. An internet marketer who tries to do all things at the same time cannot expect to maximize the systems. Lack of specialization results in loss of focus. Focusing in one or two aspects of marketing per time and as much as possible to know all you can in that area increase sales dramatically.4). Lack of PerseveranceYou might have heard of this internet marketing aphorism: “money is in the list.” List here refers to the number of subscribers you have whom you can easily contact for business. They are your online customers. The more the number, the higher the probability of increased sales. But to build a list takes time and patience. When an online marketer hastily folds up, terminating his trading, he has put a hot knife across his growing list. His subscribers will lose faith in him. To build your list requires patience. Patience and perseverance are the traits of any successful online marketer. To have patience, you must have faith in your system and in your ability. Faith is what keeps driving you onwards and forwards even when there seems to be no apparent result. All great business achievers are known to have passed through a phase in life where they keep working and praising forwards despite no physical evidence to do so. They have strong faith in themselves and their work, hence, they are patient. Faith fuels your patience. Indeed, F-A-I-T-H and P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E, you need them if you must conquer.5). Not NetworkingInternet is a network connectivity of people and events. This is especially true with online marketing. Load of information is churned out regularly. New software that keeps refining and improving online business is being invented continuously. For instance, use of banners and posters were the norms in internet marketing in the 1990′s. Today they have been overtaking by more efficient systems. If you are still depending on them for great sales, you are of the old school. One way you can keep abreast of the latest in online marketing is by being in constant contact with your colleagues in the online business. Lack of Networking is one of the main causes of 95 percent failure among internet marketers. You cannot just set up a website, do your own things, not minding what goes around you and expect sales to keep pouring in. No, it doesn’t work that way. A doctor who enters private practice and has not been updating his knowledge soon discovers he is outdated and his practice will diminish with time.6). Not having your own websiteOne danger in affiliate marketing is the notion that you don’t need your own website. Some affiliates claim that as long as you have access to the products of the parent company that you have affiliated to, you really don’t need your own website.Really, you can make sales with your affiliate link without a personal website. But the truth is you’ll be grossly limited. For instance, you cannot take advantage of what I refer to as Integrated Affiliate Marketing, which is the linking of products of different affiliate companies and marketing them as one entity. Integrated Affiliate Marketing is made possible only by having your own website. In your website you can integrate two or more products of different companies and market them at the same time. This ensures multiple streams of income. It is what all successful internet affiliate marketers do. Indeed, one great disserve you’ll mete out on yourself is not having your own website!

E-commerce
