Money Transfer Through Online Payment Gateway

Posted by
An online payment gateway is typically a service would allow you to transact monies with another party. An online payment gateway will take care of various financial systems involved in an online money transfer, including making payments for goods and transferring the money to the beneficiary conveniently. Some online payment gateways offer additional facilities for transferring money, sending invoices, making payments for invoices, etc online, through emails, mobile phones, etc.

Money transfer through an online payment gateway is the most affordable option that technology has made available for us via debit cards, credit cards. Today, there are a significant number of online payment gateway service providers offering fast, secured, and guaranteed worldwide money transfer services. Choosing an online payment gateway provider is important. Ideally, you should scrutinize security measures offered by each and every online payment gateway before finally opting for one.

The choice of payment gateway and compatibility are important decisions. An online payment that is compatible only with a few gateways or is complex for common people to understand won’t be of much help to you.

Any online payment gateway you choose should manage security on an ongoing basis. Remember, security is an ongoing aspect and needs to be upgraded continuously. For example today a 128-bit Digital Certificate is the highest level of security that any online payment gateway can provide; however, it may not be the same tomorrow… hence the need to upgrade.

Most authentic online payment gateways of today maintain their operations in state-of-the-art datacenters, which are strongly secured using the latest security methods. These are also completely compliant with major security initiatives of various sites, some of which include Visa Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP), MasterCard Site Data Protection (SDP), and Discover Information Security and Compliance (DISC). Some online payment gateways are certified as PCI Level 1 service providers.

Hence, whenever you are considering opting for an online payment gateway, you should check out that the above steps are religiously being followed.

Electronic Commerce

Posted by
Peter Carlson asked:

The meaning of the term “electronic commerce” has changed over time. Originally, “electronic commerce” meant the facilitation of commercial transactions electronically, usually using technology like Electronic Data Interchange (EDI, introduced in the late 1970s) to send commercial documents like purchase orders or invoices electronically.

Later it came to include activities more precisely termed “Web commerce” — the purchase of goods and services over the World Wide Web via secure servers (note HTTPS, a special server protocol which encrypts confidential ordering data for customer protection) with e-shopping carts and with electronic pay services, like credit card payment authorizations.

When the Web first became well-known among the general public in 1994, many journalists and pundits forecast that e-commerce would soon become a major economic sector. However, it took about four years for security protocols (like HTTPS) to become sufficiently developed and widely deployed (during the browser wars of this period). Subsequently, between 1998 and 2000, a substantial number of businesses in the United States and Western Europe developed rudimentary Web sites.

Although a large number of “pure e-commerce” companies disappeared during the dot-com collapse in 2000 and 2001, many “brick-and-mortar” retailers recognized that such companies had identified valuable niche markets and began to add e-commerce capabilities to their Web sites. For example, after the collapse of online grocer Webvan, two traditional supermarket chains, Albertsons and Safeway, both started e-commerce subsidiaries through which consumers could order groceries online.

As of 2005, e-commerce has become well-established in major cities across much of North America, Western Europe, and certain East Asian countries like South Korea. However, e-commerce is still emerging slowly in some industrialized countries, and is practically nonexistent in many Third World countries.

Electronic commerce has unlimited potential for both developed and developing nations, offering lucrative profits in a highly unregulated environment.
